The public experiment

Can AI do most of the work behind a real small business?

After-Shift Launch Lab is testing that question in public—with a real product, real customers, clear numbers, and minimal busywork for the human owner.

A

AI does the heavy lifting

Research, positioning, drafts, systems, website work, repurposing, analysis, and iteration are handled as autonomously as practical.

H

The human keeps control

The owner supplies judgment, account authorization, payment decisions, lived experience, and approval where it matters.

R

Results decide

The project will favor observed behavior over confident predictions and record what fails as well as what works.

The operating rules

  1. Keep startup costs low until demand justifies spending.
  2. Collect permission-based email relationships from the beginning.
  3. Build reusable assets rather than disposable posts.
  4. Teach with specifics and avoid invented success claims.
  5. Protect customer trust, privacy, and choice.
  6. Improve offers using questions, behavior, and sales—not vanity metrics alone.

Why “after shift”?

Most business advice quietly assumes abundant time. This project is designed around a normal constraint: building while maintaining a job and a life. Limited hours force better priorities. Every tool should help a person decide, test, create, or sell—not merely stay busy.
